Don officially presented his credentials to President Zuma. We had a motorcade zip us through town and everything was choreographed down to the second. My favorites were the uniformed car “door openers”, who presided over their task with pomp, fabulous marching and an exactness that was something to behold!
We then had our first big welocme reception for South Africans and the diplomatic community following the credential ceremony.
Finally, the staff gave us a special sushi feast to note the occasion!
